Custom touches are a great way to get that wow look that sets your outdoor entertainment area apart from the rest. Some features are more aesthetic and others serve a practical function as well. Here are some of our favorites:
Architectural Screen Walls
Architectural screen walls are our secret weapon for privacy and panache. Adding an architectural screen wall creates the illusion of a room. Your space will feel cozier, more tranquil, and relaxing. Not only will a screen wall serve to create your own private retreat, it also gives you a platform to stage off of. As basic as a wall sounds, this simple addition adds so much in so many ways and will change how you use the space.
Built-in Seating
Built-in seating obviously serves a practical purpose by creating more places for people to sit without requiring more furniture. It’s a great way to increase the capacity of your deck without expanding the footprint. It will make your deck seem bigger and more spacious as well. Having extra seating is never a problem and when it’s not being used, it looks amazing because it blends right in.
Pergolas
The thing I like the most about pergolas is that they create the feeling of a room but cost much less than adding an enclosed space. Because pergolas are essentially the bare bones of an enclosure, they don’t cost nearly as much to build. A pergola will be ⅓ to ½ of the cost of a roofed enclosure. We love to recommend smaller, less expensive touches that give you a lot of bang for your buck. When it comes to ambiance, don’t underestimate the furniture and decor. They make a huge impact on the vibe your space gives off. The furniture style, colors, patterns, and fabrics you choose, all set a tone. Light and airy fabrics in soft colors say tranquility, while heavier fabrics in neutral colors feel more formal. Bright colors with beads and fringe create a playful Bohemian vibe. From cushions and curtains to rugs and pillows, you can make your deck say posh, party, or peaceful.
